Chad Daybell has been sentenced to death for the murders of his ex-wife Tammy Daybell and stepchildren Tylee Ryan and Joshua "JJ" Vallow, who were found dead on his property in 2020.
His wife, Lori Vallow, has already been sentenced to life in prison for her role in the murders.
Chad showed no emotion when the judge read out the death sentence.
The jury found him guilty of the murders and he was sentenced to death.
The children were reported missing in 2019 and their remains were found buried on Daybell’s property in Idaho in 2020.
Lori Vallow’s children, Joshua and Tylee, were found dead on the property, leading to Chad’s arrest.
Both Chad and Lori pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
Chad was also found guilty of the murder of his ex-wife Tammy, who was originally thought to have died of natural causes.
The prosecution described Chad as obsessed with apocalyptic beliefs and referred to people as "zombies".
Family members of the victims were satisfied with the jury’s decision, seeing it as the only justice they could get.
Lori Vallow, also known as the "Doomsday Mom", married Chad Daybell, who was known for his apocalyptic fiction.
The couple justified the murders with bizarre theories about cleansing "zombie spirits".
